Steven C. Van Wyk is Group Chief Information Officer (CIO) for HSBC Bank PLC and is based in London. His more than 30 years of senior-level domestic and international experience managing IT organizations includes eight years with PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., where he served as CIO and led technology and innovation, seven years with ING Groep N.V., a multinational banking and financial services corporation, where he served as Global CIO, and 10 years with Morgan Stanley, including several years as CIO/COO of its Individual Investor Group.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Business Management and Accounting with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Central Iowa. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor, and a Series 27 Financial/Operations Principal. Active in the industry, Steven serves as Chairman of the Board for the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN), a nonprofit that seeks to establish a common architecture framework for enabling banking interoperability.
Steven was named to RGA’s board in 2019.
