Khanh T. Tran is the retired President and Chief Executive Officer of Aviation Capital Group LLC, a global commercial aviation leasing company with $12 billion in assets, $4 billion in equity capital, and a 500-aircraft portfolio with 90 customers in 45 countries. Previously and prior to his retirement from Pacific Life insurance company, he served in a number of senior executive roles, including President, Chief Investment Officer; Chief Financial Officer, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions, and Treasurer.
Khanh graduated from Whittier College in Whittier, California, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in economics and political science. He also has an M.B.A. with a focus on finance and marketing from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Khanh has served on several corporate boards, including CIT Group, Inc., Aviation Capital Group LLC, Pacific Life Insurance Company, and Scottish Re. He is currently on the Board of Advisors of the George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics, Chapman University, in Orange, California. He is also a trustee and chair of the finance committee for the Semester at Sea.
Khanh is a champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion: in 2019, he founded and currently serves as chairman of the Orange County, California chapter of Ascend Leadership, the largest Pan-Asian business professional membership organization in North America, dedicated to driving workplace and societal impact by developing and elevating Asian and Pacific Islander business leaders.
Khanh joined RGA’s Board of Directors in 2022.
