Head of Research and Innovation
RGA China
Edison Liu currently serves as the Head of Research and Innovation at RGA Shanghai. In this role, he leads a cross-departmental team dedicated to innovating and promoting protection products in China.
He has extensive experience in the reinsurance industry, including prior roles with Munich Re, Qianhai Re, and RGA. Edison previously served as RGA China’s Director of Research and Development, and as and Underwriting and Claims Representative until 2018. After that, he joined the newly established Chinese reinsurance company Qianhai Re, where he pioneered several innovative initiatives in product development, automated underwriting, and value-added services.
Edison earned his medical Ph.D. from Peking University. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Life Underwriters (FALU), a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and a Medical Risk Assessment Professional (MRAP).
