Brooks Colvin

Brooks Colvin is a Vice President of Real Estate Credit and is responsible for the origination and underwriting teams focused on the ReCap West Region of the United States.  He works closely with the regional managers in structuring and negotiating new debt transactions and is a member of the Mortgage Loan Credit Committee at ReCap.

After a brief stint in minor-league baseball, Brooks began his investment career at RGA 13 years ago within the global portfolio management group on the trade desk at RGA.  He has spent the past 10 years at ReCap in commercial real estate, beginning as an assistant regional manager in the Phoenix office covering Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico.  He helped underwrite and originate over $250 million of new loans in the region and also helped during the formation of ReCap’s equity platform by modeling new and existing joint venture equity transactions.  Brooks returned to RGA’s global headquarters in St. Louis in 2015, where he primarily worked as a senior underwriter and director within the ReCap underwriting team and handled the due diligence and modeling of a wide variety of asset types in markets across the United States.  

Brooks has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Missouri State University and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
