GFS North America has been a leader in the financial reinsurance market for more than 30 years, providing capital-motivated reinsurance solutions to clients across the globe.  Our highly experienced and creative group has completed many groundbreaking financial reinsurance transactions over the years, including what is believed to be the first XXX reserve financing structure in 2000.  

The GFS North America team has two decades of experience in the annuity reinsurance and stable value market, with an average fund value of over $22 billion. Clients choose RGA on the strength of our counterparty presence, our long-term dedication to the market, our absence from the primary market as a direct writer, and our expertise. 

RGA also has executed numerous longevity transactions in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Canada, and we continue to explore opportunities to apply our insights from these transactions to the U.S. market. 

In addition, our Stable Value team focuses on underwriting and funding synthetic GIC contracts for stable value fund options in U.S. savings plans such as 401(k) plans. As a trusted presence in this industry, we support clients who advocate saving solutions, working closely with them from initial discussions to successful wrap contract execution.

As Vice President, Business Development and Structuring for GFS, Huan Tseng combines subject matter expertise and strong client and leadership skills to identify business opportunities for North American clients in collaboration with RGA Canada and Global Accounts teams.

Prior to joining RGA in 2019, Huan had more than 20 years of industry experience globally, specializing in variable and fixed annuities, M&A, and financial solutions. Most recently, he was a senior member and played a key role in the formation of a reinsurance/insurance start-up based in Bermuda. He was also with Athene Life Re where he was responsible for pricing, structuring and negotiating annuity reinsurance transactions. During his three years at Athene, he led numerous projects involving both block and flow reinsurance as well as M&A opportunities as part of the Corporate Development team.

Before joining Athene, Huan held similar senior reinsurance roles at Allianz Life Re (Singapore) and ACE Tempest Life Re (now Chubb) in Bermuda, with a strong track record of executing profitable treaties across various product types in the U.S. and internationally.
Huan received an Honours Bachelor of Science in actuarial science with distinction from Western University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and an Associate of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA).
