RGA Reinsurance Company Hong Kong Branch was established in 1995 and the company has since grown to become one of the largest life reinsurers in Hong Kong and the Southeast Asian markets. In addition to supporting Hong Kong life insurance companies, the branch supports other multinational companies throughout Southeast Asia, including in Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. Lines of business include Group, Individual, Life, and Accident and Health. The Hong Kong Branch is also responsible for RGA International’s High Net Worth Initiative, which serves predominantly private bank customers in the Asian region.

RGA is an innovator around the world in developing reinsurance products and services that help insurance and financial organizations protect and grow their business. Recognizing the growing importance of the Islamic market, RGA created RGA Global Reinsurance Company Limited, Labuan Branch, in 2008 to support the takaful market. In September 2009, RGA Labuan received a Retakaful Window license, permitting it to provide Shariah-compliant solutions to takaful operators. The solutions will include traditional family retakaful products and services in life and health risk pooling, co-retakaful and product development, as well as facultative underwriting.
