RGA Named Australia and New Zealand Reinsurance Company of the Year
ST. LOUIS, August 27, 2010 – RGA Reinsurance Company of Australia Limited, a subsidiary of Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (NYSE: RGA), has been named "Australia and New Zealand Reinsurance Company of the Year" at the 2010 Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards. This marks the second year in a row RGA has received this award in recognition of its commitment to helping the life insurance industry in Australia and New Zealand innovate and grow.
The awards, which are hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), and Asia Insurance Review (AIR), recognise outstanding achievement in the Australian and New Zealand insurance industry.
The judges were impressed by RGA’s market knowledge and thought leadership, demonstrated through initiatives such as regular industry seminars for clients and "Leaders in the Life Industry" dinners, which provided a forum for senior leaders in the Australian life risk market to consider and discuss strategic issues affecting the industry. These events attracted prominent local and international speakers, who provided valuable insights for the industry. Judges also acknowledged RGA's significant contribution to its customers' business retention and growth. In the group market, RGA assisted its customers in successfully retaining and growing 11 major industry funds, totaling $324 million in annual gross premium.
